G.G. Knoth is a fierce advocate for mental health. A professional writer for over twenty years, she holds degrees in Fine Arts and Health Science , and advanced degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pastoral Counseling, including a Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling.
In 2021 she combined her thriving acupuncture and counseling practices to create This Is Not What I Signed Up For, LLC. Today she is in full time private practice where she uses almost 20 years of professional experience to blend the best of ancient medical wisdom, modern research-supported holistic technology, an scientifically-supported temperament-based knowledge to provide her patents complete and personalized wellness care for mind, body, and soul.
She is passionate about mental health support and eliminating the stigma of mental health for everyone. Her greatest wish is to inform and equip her clients and followers to reclaim their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
Her second poetry collection, Pain Is My Spirit Animal, examines how we experience pain in four areas of our lives: mind, body, heart, and soul. Her bestselling debut poetry collection, Whisper Screaming in the Middle of a Crowded Room, takes a fierce and unapologetic look at the stigma of mental illness in our society, calling each of us to greater compassion and understanding for ourselves and one another. In June 2021, she released her third book, Watering Plastic Flowers, a short collection of poems.
An introvert that finds her powerful voice on the page, G.G. Knoth has a raw and unabashed writing style that drags emotions kicking and screaming out of her readers. With a message of hope for the hurting and a convicting call to action for change for our society at large, she dives head first into dark and difficult subject matter verse by verse. With a message of solidarity and hope, she encourages those struggling, especially alone, to hold on, reach out, and keep the faith.
She lives on a small farm in South Florida with her husband, their two daughters, sassy cats, a very grouchy chihuahua, free range chickens and ducks, and their rescued African sulcata tortoise who weighs almost a hundred pounds, and thus, does whatever the hell he wants.
